The design corresponds to the engineering stage that enables the requirements expressed to be turned into technical specifications.

This stage is characterized by:

• Obtaining the building permit in December 2012;

• Selecting the site and signing the lease in January 2013;

• Taking possession of the site on June 7, 2013;

• Issuance of Operation permit in August 2013.

This stage began with the following key stages:

• Opening of the construction site on May 5, 2014;

• Setting up the construction yard in April and June 2014;

• Signing the French Navigation Waterways Agreement in June 2014;

• Preparing the site underground from June to August 2014;

• Dynamic compaction of the ground in September 2014;

• Signing the civil engineering contracts and launching the construction works in October 2014.

The launch of the construction process will be characterized by:

• the delivery of the civil engineering documents and execution of site works;

• the construction of nine technology blocks (biomass management, gasification and washing of the synthesis gas, methanation, making the methane produced compliant with the specifications, laboratory and physical & chemical analysis, use of experimental data, utilities, electrical equipment, control equipments, management of the assets, and civil engineering).

This stage will begin as from January 2016, and will mark the initial commissioning of the technology blocks (biomass management, gasification and washing of the gas, operation of the utilities (water, steam and electricity), and general services (delivery of the operations building).
